A case of bird flu was last night reported at a chicken farm in southern England - the second outbreak of the disease in four months.
Officers ordered that the entire flock at the farm in Hampshire be culled, and they imposed a 1km (0.6 miles) exclusion zone around the site.
Defra, the Government's environment department, said the chickens tested positive for the H7N7 strain of avian influenza.
