Training Youths in Diaspora

Blessings. I personally think its a personal thing.. Yes single parenting, working all hours are contributing factors but that is not the main problem and also it is not about the government asking us not to spank them. Training really is not about beating. What i do think is missing is communication. We are not talking enough with them parents. Either single or double. God could trust us to do well by them hence giving them to us. Africans, Nigerian parents especially. We dont communicate love well to this children. We shout at every mistakes. We dont appreciate little efforts. We compare our kids with others. Most of us are raising them the way we were raised. Most of our parents communicate love through food. Clothes and sending us to good schools, no physical affection. This world has changed. It has to start from our homes, our relationship with our kids. It is a shame if we are alive and they pick mentors or role model from outside. We are first our childrens role model. We are doing alot wrong. I have been a single parent since i can remember, not by choice or divorce though. I have four beautiful girls and a boy. They are my friends. We talk. We do things together. We plan. We carry out. We pastor together. Virtually everything. Above all i listen alot to them and we PRAY together. Their feelings. Their emotions. Their challenges. We journey through it together. Can i say that i have a career also. I qualified as an accountant 2012. I also pastor a local but growing church. When i drop them at Uni its a struggle because they want to be with me. I am not saying anything to boast, God be praised, its by His mercies. What i think we need to do more is parenting meetings. Forums where we talk and share with ourselves tips that works. There is no need to apportion fault or blames. Either single or double obviously we are doing a lot wrong and our kids are suffering. They are in pain. The yet to notice statistics that seems unimportant but serious like stabbing and the rest is the number of our christian children taking oaths of other religion. It is scary and i see the enemy recruiting them for war. Lets rise up and protect our children. We need actions. We need to rise. Our children need revival on all side and we can do it. We can restore love back to our homes. We can win our kids back we can do it. We have an advantage, they are Gods heritage. He can help us. Some of us need not to give up but journey with our kids who had fallen among thing. Grace to homes!

Phillip Textile Printer Olaosebikan We all have to discipline our children in love and not discipline and tell them off like they are criminals. Some of the criminal acts are carried out cause parents have already sowed the seed with their words and actions.#ParentsLetsBeGentle. I have 3 boys.

Kay Awote All good.
Above all....go the extra mile by having a chat with kids on their way back home from school or otherwise....on the consequences of playing rough.......things they do to each other whilst playing are unimaginable.I most times do....albeit gently and proportionately, and they do respond positively.....
Stab/fight to death amongst them,lately...is very worrying.
