The United Democratic Party (UDP), has called on the president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, to focus on the provision of electricity, education and roads to fast-track development in the country.
Dr Marcel Ezenwoye, the FCT Chairman of the UDP, made the call in an interview with newsmen on Friday in Abuja.
Ezenwoye also called on the president-elect to tackle the current security and corruption problems with all seriousness, as well as give priority attention to agriculture and health.
“God says let there be light and there was light; let Buhari also say let there be light now in Nigeria.
“Once you have electricity in every nook and cranny of the country, industries and everybody else will be engaged in productive ventures.
“With power, the people will be able to at least generate little income on their own,” he said.
Ezenwoye urged the president-elect to form an all inclusive government composed of “capable hands with proven quality.”
He expressed confidence that Buhari had the discipline, strong moral character and political will to tackle corruption and other vices that had bedevilled the country.
The UDP chairman called on Nigerians to give the president-elect their unalloyed support to move the nation forward.
Ezenwoye commended President Goodluck Jonathan for conceding defeat, saying that the gesture “has demonstrated that he is a good leader” interested in the development, peace and unity of the country.
