Heavily pregnant Jehovah's Witness woman and her baby have died after she refused a blood transfusion that would have likely saved both of their lives.
The 28-year-old declined the treatment due to her religious beliefs after she was diagnosed with leukemia seven months into her pregnancy.
Some of the hospital staff have claimed that both of these deaths were avoidable as more than 80 percent of pregnant leukemia sufferers go into remission with treatment, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Doctors have described the distressing scene at the Royal Hospital for Women and Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick after the religious-based decision not only put herself at dire risk, but also her unborn baby.
