Biafra Referendum: EU advices on peaceful resolution

Federica Mogherini, European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security has replied Biafra agitators and the Organization of Emerging African States (OEAS) over their call for a referendum.

The fall of temperature usually signifies that winter is at hand except in precise areas like the north pole where winter wakes and sleeps. Winter induces people to sty at home to remain warm and it such a  season that challenges an adventure to out-door life.

Somehow, the Yi Quan lake in Handan is breaking convention. The lake has frozen to sub zero levels and this has become the attraction that has encouraged hoards of people, wearing skimpy swimsuits, to frolic in the lake that's partially caked with enormous slabs of ice.

Just before 5pm on 14 January, something strange happened to television channel Arise, a small African television network operating out of London – it suddenly vanished from the airwaves.

The message beneath logo of the station, which is broadcast on Sky channel 519 and which operates from prime studios overlooking Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace and Big Ben, simply read: “Normal service will resume as soon as possible.”

Al-Qaeda strikes in Ouagadougou

Gunmen stormed the Splendid hotel in Ouagadougou,Burkina Faso last night in what appeared to be a major terrorist attack. Security forces were called in to attempt taking control of the luxury hotel in the centre of Burkina Faso's capital city. The gunmen were considered Islamist radicals and took hostages, killing at least 20 people, according to official reports. The four-star hotel is reported to be frequently used by the United Nations and people from the Western world.
